HCCB Dedicates Two More Villages In Chittoor DistrictModel Village Programme
Lives of around 2780 people of the Challapalem and Kapugunneri villages located in Srikalahasti Mandal in Chittoor District have positively impacted from the Model Village Initiatives of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), one of India’s top FMCG companies. HCCB dedicated the two villages to the community at a function held at the Mandal primary school premise of Challapalem and Mandal Upper Primary School at Kapugunneri yesterday. Automatic water dispensing system with smart card for Any Time Water (ATW) and a smart classroom were inaugurated in both the villages during the walk though tours.
A culvert that was built to connect neighboring hamlets to the main village is showcased Apart from Safe Drinking Water and Primary Education, some of the other infrastructure development programmes implemented in the two villages pertain to Access to Health, Sustainable Agriculture Support, Economic Empowerment of Women, Sanitation and World Without Waste.
The objective of the programme is to provide the communities with education, skill development opportunities, civic amenities and create awareness around sanitation, hygiene and water conservation.
In its efforts to economically empower the women, HCCB has also helped create several Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in the two villages. Over 278 women received skill building training sessions for tailoring, fabric painting and for preparing millet-based snacks to help the women manage their funds and enhance their earnings.

The HCCB model village initiatives in the two villages are based on the findings of an extensive study report and collective opinion of village community and panchayat leaders.
