Lives of around 14,000 people of Jemadei, Tangi Basti, Mukund Prasad, Bada Sabarsahi, Chachera Sabarsahi and Tirumal in Khorda district are being positively impacted through various initiatives of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), one of India’s top FMCG companies. Continuing with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, HCCB today formally dedicated one Smart Class Room, two RO Systems and several outdoor playground equipment such as seesaw, swing and slide set for school children in one of the schools of Jemadei village.
Mr. Jyotirindra Nath Mitra, Hon’ble MLA, Khordha was the chief guest at the function organised to mark the dedication of Jemadei and Tangi Basti, the two villages of Khorda district near Bhubaneswar to the community under HCCB’s CSR initiatives.
Additionally, a temporary container to discard plastic waste was introduced in the community. HCCB has made a provision for a recycler to collect the plastic waste container on a weekly basis. This is part of HCCB’s countrywide campaign to create awareness on the importance of segregating waste.
Among other initiatives, the company with the help of its NGO Partner, People’s Cultural Centre (PECUC), continues to actively support the women members of the Self-Help Groups (SHGs) set up in these villages to improve their livelihood through several income generating activities such as goat keeping, grocery shops, tailoring units, grinding machines, incense stick making machines, leaf-plate making machines and spices packing machines. Around 400 women from across 35 SHGs are being benefitted from these initiatives.
Jemadei and Tangi Basti are amongst the six intervention villages in the Khorda district covered under HCCB’s community program to enhance the quality of life of its communities around the company’s manufacturing facilities around the country.
Appreciating the partnership between HCCB and the local community, Mr. Jyotirindra Nath Mitra, the Hon’ble MLA, Khordha, in his inaugural address said, “It is no longer sufficient to just focus on one aspect of development to grow sustainably.” He further added “When large organisations such as HCCB provide opportunities to enhance the livelihood of their neighbouring communities, they are paving the way for other organizations to come forward and help in building a viable ecosystem for the community at large.”
HCCB’s CSR programme started almost six years ago around its factory in the Khorda district. To begin with, HCCB identified core focus areas such as provision for drinking water, sanitation, healthcare, primary education, and other Infrastructure facilities to improve the quality of life for people in these villages. Till date, HCCB has undertaken installation of 03 bore wells, renovation of 11 bore wells and construction of 01 open well to ensure access to water for drinking and domestic purposes in the surrounding villages. During this period, the company has also organised around 40 general health camps that have benefitted over 4000 community members. Besides, HCCB continues to support 05 Shradha Bhavan that caters to over 450 children.

We are happy to witness the completion of the programme as we dedicate these facilities to the communities. We will continue to work with the local community in our effort to make a positive difference.”

The HCCB logo is an affirmation of our core values. Much like the Indian ethos, we too, seek humility, progress, care, compassion and inclusivity. We too are curious, colourful and diverse.
Our logo has three components:
1) HCCB wordmark
The colourful wordmark captures the vibrant spirit and diversity of India. Between the four colours in the wordmark, they combine the primary or secondary colours of the top 8 selling brands of HCCB. The two Cs in the logo come together to form the infinity symbol; a symbol of the infinite opportunities that India as a country has to offer and HCCB as a company has to leverage. The imperfect letters in the logo is simply an assertion of our core value of not striving for perfection but progress.
2) The company name
The company name is written in the Noto Sans font, which is designed to be harmonious across multiple languages.
3) The brand proposition
The company’s brand proposition ‘Inspired by India’ summarises our purpose and our soul. We are Indian and India brings the best out of us.
