Ahmedabad, Aug 13, 2021 – As part of its efforts to help the city prepare against the possible 3rd wave of COVID-19, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), one of India's top FMCG companies recently provided an Antibody Screening Machine to the Ahmedabad branch of Indian Red Cross Society (ICRS). The screening machine will enable the doctors and nurses to carry out tests for antibodies, and co-ordinate with hospitals to donate plasma for COVID-19 patients. With this, the antibody levels in patients who have taken both the doses of vaccines can also be assessed. In particular, the machine will come in handy for people with critical medical conditions such as thalassemia, who require regular transfusions.
Besides, HCCB has donated 12 oxygen concentrators in the state of Gujarat till date – 7 in Kheda tehsil, and 5 in Sanand tehsil. The company has also distributed PPE Kits, Oximeters, Masks, Hand gloves, and Sanitizers in Sanand and Kheda tehsils’ primary health centres. The company also has plans to set up 8 oxygen plants across the country.
“The significance of Antibody Screening Machine cannot be overestimated especially in times of crisis such as CoVID. The gesture of HCCB to donate the machine is timely when the nation is preparing to avert the possible 3rd wave of the pandemic”, acknowledged Dr. Vishwas Amin, General Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS).
Highlighting the need to proactively work towards averting the possible 3rd wave of CoVID, Kamlesh Sharma, Chief Public Affairs and Communication Officer, HCCB said, “As a responsible corporate citizen, we feel it’s our duty to contribute towards the nation’s fight against the pandemic. We hope the Antibody Screening Machine that we have donated to IRCS boosts the confidence of our health care professionals in their efforts to save precocious human lives.”
HCCB has also been donating ventilators, ICU beds, ICU equipment, BiPAP machines and several other medical emergency amenities to several hospitals in the country as part of its nation-wide CoVID relief efforts.

The company name is written in the Noto Sans font, which is designed to be harmonious across multiple languages.

- The Reverse Logo can be used when the logo colours are the same as the background colour
