Mysuru, Karnataka, 9th October 2025: Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), one of India’s leading FMCG companies, in partnership with Anandana: The Coca-Cola India Foundation, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) and Sangam Pratishthan, led a large-scale PET collection drive during this year’s Mysuru Dasara festival.

During the 10-day festivities, volunteers and safai sathis collected, segregated and transported used PET bottles from key public venues such as Chamundi Hills and Aahara Mela. The drive conducted from 22 September to 5 October 5, 2025 supported Mysuru’s city-wide cleanliness efforts and encouraged responsible waste-disposal practices among residents and visitors.

To enhance public participation, the campaign also featured Beedi Nataka, a Kannada street play art form, performed by Bengaluru-based artists at key locations to raise public awareness, encourage participation in the collection, segregation, and recycling of used PET bottles, and promote responsible recycling and waste segregation habits.

Speaking about the initiative, Himanshu Priyadarshi, Chief Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability Officer of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, said, “At HCCB, we strongly believe that lasting and meaningful change is possible only when businesses, communities, and government work together towards a common goal. Through the ‘#GreenSweep’ initiative, we partnered closely with civic authorities and engaged safai sathis and volunteers to ensure the effective collection and segregation of used PET bottles. Additionally, we organized Beedi Nataka to spread awareness. We are honored to collaborate with Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) and Anandana, The Coca-Cola India Foundation, in these efforts, contributing to the well-being of Mysuru city.”

The strength of Coca-Cola lies in partnerships that deliver real change,” said Devyani R L Rana, Vice President, Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability, Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia. “This collaborative initiative between HCCB, Anandana and Mysuru City Corporation brings that belief to life – combining public participation, local expertise, improving waste management practices, and inspiring communities to take part in creating a more sustainable future.

Building on the success of last year's initiative, this year's effort further strengthened Mysuru’s PET waste-management system and citizen engagement. The drive will serve as a powerful reminder of how coordinated civic engagement and corporate responsibility can together build a future with responsible PET bottle collection, segregation, and recycling practices in Mysuru.
