HCCB to benefit 81,000 people in Maharashtra through its community welfare initiatives
Mumbai, Nov 30, 2023 - Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), one of India’s leading FMCG companies, conducted the groundbreaking ceremony of its upcoming greenfield factory at the MIDC Lote Parshuram Industrial Area, Khed in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. The event was graced by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Eknath Shinde, and the Hon'ble Industries Minister, Shri Uday Samant, in the presence of the CEO of HCCB, Juan Pablo Rodriguez, among other senior leaders from the company.
The factory is expected to be operational by February 2025 and symbolizes a major leap in HCCB’s manufacturing capabilities and its commitment to sustainable development. With an expected investment of INR 1,387 Crores, it will span across 88 acres and is expected to provide direct and indirect employment opportunities to 350 individuals.
Situated in the lush landscape of Maharashtra, the factory will utilize water sourced from the Vashishthi River, supplied through the MIDC Pipeline. This strategic decision underscores HCCB's commitment to environmental sustainability and efficient resource management.
HCCB will also drive community initiatives in Maharashtra, aiming to positively impact 81,000 lives with initiatives like educational infrastructure, water ATMs, sustainable agriculture, and community engagement centres. In the Lote area, 10,000 people will benefit directly from these initiatives. HCCB will also empower 3,000 women with digital and financial skills and train 2,500 youths in sales and marketing across 14 villages
