R. V. Shajeevana, IAS, Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women (TNCDW), along with senior officials and community members.

HCCB is deepening its commitment to strengthening women’s livelihoods by equipping SHGs with the tools they need to run sustainable micro-enterprises. By providing push carts to SHG entrepreneurs based out of Tiruvallur and Chennai — including members of the Tamilmozhi, Kaviyathalaivi, Sairam, Lotus, Lingeshwarar, Singapengal, Anantham, and Surya Oli SHGs. The company is helping them enhance their earning potential, improve business mobility, and serve more customers within their communities.

To further strengthen women-led micro-enterprises, HCCB also provided umbrellas, dining tables, and dining chairs to support the operations of Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women (TNCDW)’s Magizh (Happiness) Cafeteria units. Magizh Café kiosk has been equipped through this initiative, with this infrastructure helping SHG entrepreneurs prepare, display, and serve food and beverages more efficiently, improving the overall customer experience and supporting daily sales. This infrastructure support for SHG-run cafés strengthens the ecosystem that enables women to manage their enterprises with greater stability and dignity.

Shri Udhayanidhi Stalin, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, said, "Tamil Nadu has always been a leader in strengthening Magalir Suya Uthavi Kuzhu. Our Self-Help Groups have shown how collective strength can transform the lives of women—by building financial independence, confidence, and leadership within communities. Women entrepreneurs are the backbone of our social and economic progress, and initiatives like Magizh Café give them practical tools to earn, grow, and participate actively in the local economy. Support from credible partners like Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages enhances our ongoing efforts and helps create scalable models of inclusive development. I am confident that such collaborations will continue to empower more women across the state."

Himanshu Priyadarshi, Chief Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability Officer, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), added: "At HCCB, community development forms a core pillar of our purpose, and Project SHINE embodies our commitment to enabling meaningful, long-term impact. By supporting TNCDW’s Magizh Café model and equipping SHG entrepreneurs with push carts, we are helping women strengthen their livelihoods through better mobility, improved visibility, and increased customer access. These push carts are practical assets that help women grow their micro-enterprises and serve their neighbourhoods more efficiently. Such public–private partnerships demonstrate how practical livelihood tools can enable women to participate more fully in the local economy and contribute to stronger, more resilient communities. This is the essence of HCCB’s vision for long-term, inclusive development.”

HCCB reiterates its commitment to community empowerment under Project SHINE—a CSR initiative built on five core thematic areas: Sustainable Solutions for Environment & Disaster Management, Health & Hygiene through WASH Initiatives, Inclusive Growth via Women Empowerment & Livelihood, Nurturing Potential through Education & Skill Building, and Empowering Communities for a Better Future.

Under this framework, and in collaboration with its implementation partner Y4D Foundation, HCCB has executed multiple CSR initiatives across Tiruvallur, Karur, Krishnagiri, Thoothukudi, and Pudukottai districts. According to an impact assessment conducted by Deloitte for FY 2024–25, HCCB’s community programs have positively impacted approximately 48,000 individuals across Tamil Nadu.
