HCCB Embarks on Empowering 25,000 Women Through Digital and Financial Literacy Training

The training aims to bridge the gender gap in financial inclusion and digital adoption, aligned with PM Modi's message to foster inclusivity and drive change

Women's Empowerment | CSR Activity | HCCB

At HCCB, we continuously strive to launch new avenues for empowering the lives of those around us. In partnership with the Y4D Foundation, we proudly announce our commitment to providing financial and digital literacy training to 25,000 women across India. This empowerment drive is set to bridge the skills gap in financial understanding and technological competence amongst women of diverse backgrounds present in different locations around the country.

Bridging the knowledge gap

Our financial and digital literacy training will cover a wide breadth of essential concepts. For financial literacy, we plan to shed light on the basics of banking, account opening procedures, Unified Payments Interface (UPI) training, investment guidance, net banking, and the various government schemes for women like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Sukanya Sam Riddhi Yojana Nari Shakti, and more.

For digital literacy, we aim to equip these women with critical tools to succeed in today's digital age. The module will encompass aspects like mobile banking, digital market linkage, and cyber safety and security. To provide an optimal learning experience, our skill training for women will be conducted in a classroom-based format in multiple identified locations across the country. The women to benefit from this training on financial literacy will be selected and trained in groups according to their interests, needs and existing literacy levels, ensuring targeted and efficient learning.

Amplifying our impact with the YDF Foundation

Our alliance with the Y4D Foundation brings this digital and financial literacy training initiative to life. As we combine our efforts, we foster inclusivity and provide a superior learning experience, helping to shape a more equitable society.

Our call to empower: The voices from HCCB

Speaking on the initiative, our Chief Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability Officer, Mr. Himanshu Priyadarshi, offers this perspective: "At HCCB, we strive to foster an equitable environment, not only for our employees but also for the communities we operate within. By enhancing the financial literacy and digital competence of these women, we hope to contribute to the country's economic growth.”

Mr. Gaurav Sharma, the Chief People Officer, adds, "Our goal is to transform these training sessions into impactful conduits that uplift and equip these 25,000 women with the required digital and financial skills, creating a ripple effect of positive change across our society.”

Charting the path forward

Our mission with this program is clear. We aspire to support women, enabling them to take hold of their financial independence and seize the wealth of opportunities the digital world and government offer. We have facilitated various women-led self-help groups across the country, equipping them to run their own businesses. It's our commitment to continue fostering entrepreneurship through this initiative and beyond, creating a more empowered, inclusive, and resilient future.
