HCCB's Journey: Towards a World Without Waste With One Day and One Hour Together
Under the banner of "One Day, One Hour Together", HCCB advances its commitment to environmental sustainability and efficient waste management.
At HCCB, we champion the vision of a world without waste, dedicating our efforts to efficient waste management and working towards achieving a cleaner, eco-conscious society.
Inspired by President Narendra Modi’s "One Date One Hour Together" initiative, we collectively channelled our efforts, making substantial advancements in waste management and progressing towards sustainability.
The One Date One Hour Together initiative
The "One Date One Hour Together" initiative, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to action, encourages communities to come together on a specific date and time to engage in activities aimed at enhancing cleanliness and sustainability. This initiative seeks to raise awareness, nurture a sense of responsibility, and foster camaraderie among participants.
Two ideas, one vision
Our vision of a world without waste aligns seamlessly with President Modi's commitment to environmental sustainability. The shared vision empowers us to move forward and make a meaningful impact on the ground. In our mission to realise this shared vision, we undertook significant actions, including organising cleanliness drives at 11 strategic locations across India. These were carefully selected to include both locations in the vicinity of our plants and areas with high footfalls. The areas include Jakkur Lake and Bidadi in Bangalore, Pirangut in Pune, Carter Road and Marve Beach in Mumbai, Goblej and Sanand in Ahmedabad, Pilukhedi in Bhopal, the state of Goa, the city of Patna, Turbhe Railway Station in Navi Mumbai, and finally, Palghar in Wada.
Active participation came from various quarters—dedicated HCCB associates, community members, and support from several entities like Y4D Foundation, ReCircle, Gem Enviro Management Pvt. Ltd., Gemcorp Recycling & Technologies, and The Shakti Plastic Industries. Remarkably. In total over 600 kgs of waste was collected, contributing to improved environmental health.
Our unified vision for change
Beyond only measurable results, these cleanliness drives instilled an enriched community spirit and renewed determination to work towards environmental sustainability, a testament to the power of unified visions taking the shape of concrete actions.
As we continue this journey, we're inspired by the collective power of our communities and their role in bringing our shared vision to life. This reminds us that significant environmental changes are achievable when we act together. United, we progress towards a greener, more sustainable future.
